Abstract
- The article presents a study on climatic and geographical factors that affect the chemical and isotopic elements of precipitation in Syria. The study was conducted within the 13 meteoric stations in Syria such as Izraa and Tartous. Results showed that the deuterium excess (d-excess) is low in the north of Syria with19.9% recorded d-excess at Tartous while 18.1% at Jarablous. The study also revealed that Mediterranean water vapor is the main source of precipitation in nearby countries of Syria.
