Abstract
- The article presents the results of a study which quantified the resistance provided by rubber bands and steel chains, in the context of strength training, using both a load cell and a force plate. The chains exhibited a linear progression, while the rubber bands showed curvilinear increases in tension, best modeled by second-order polynomial functions. The effect produced by differing lengths of the same type of band is also noted.
