Abstract

The article discusses the development of the "O Estado de Sao Paulo," Brazil's foremost newspaper associated in its 100th founding anniversary. It discusses the benefits caused by the newspaper such as fighting for progressive causes and abolishes slavery. It also notes the generations who manage the newspaper including Julio Mesquita, Julio de Mesquita Neto and Julio de Mesquita Filho. It also provides an overview of the sections of the newspaper particularly the editorial page wherein it remains rigidly anti-communist.
