Abstract

The article discusses the events in the National League play-offs and the World Series competed by several baseball teams including the Yankees of New York, Big Red Machine of Cincinnati, and Phillies of Philadelphia. It says that the World Champion Reds had their fifth division win and the Reds claimed another title. In the National League play-offs, the Reds and the Phillies were the opponents. It notes that Philadelphia and Cincinnati fit for the league finale, Philadelphia has the edge in pitching while Reds have Joe Morgan who was named the most valuable player in 1975 playoff. It mentions that in the Yankees-Royals match, the Yankees have the edge in base running and pitching while the Royals have the tight defense and leading hitters such as George Brett.
