Abstract

The article reports on the issue regarding the possession of deadly weapons among the reporters in Rhodesia. It mentions the notable journalists that have carried weapons in covering their respective scoop including Winston Churchill and Ernest Hemingway. However, it denotes that carrying deadly weapons is considered as a grave offense and it violates the ethics of professionalism. Meanwhile, it elucidates the occurrence of the "Bang Gang," a group of journalists who carried pistols and other forms of deadly weapons. Furthermore, the need of journalists to carry weapons for defense is also mentioned.
