Abstract

The article discusses the economic development of several countries including China, Israel and South Africa as of May 2010. It notes that China's gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate will exceed 11% in 2010 before slowing to below 10% in 2011. It states that the recovery of Israel's economy is underway and growth should be close to potential by the end of 2011. It mentions South Africa's projected GDP growth rate of 5% will be above potential and its account deficit will widen due to imports.
