Abstract

The article reports on the impact of increase cost of paper and postage on the U.S. magazines. The U.S. magazines are feeling the pitch of increased paper cost and postal rates, and as a result the magazines have reduced the size and format of the magazines. The main reason that the magazines have reduced the format is because of postal rates, as less weight in postage means less cost and, hence reduced format saves postal as well as paper cost and becomes economical for the magazines.
