Abstract
- The article focuses on the grievances of the miners of Easington Colliery in Durham, England in the 1970s. It states that the miners were disappointed with their wages. It adds that the nationalization of the mines granted the Coal Board total control over the mines, leaving the miners in disadvantage. According to Tom Nicholson, secretary of the Easington miner's union, the situations suffered by the miners urged trade unions to take actions against the Tory government of Great Britain.
