Abstract
- The article discusses the problem of Islamic radicalization within the borders of Sweden despite the country's characteristics as a model of what a modern liberal democracy, an exemplar of tolerance, humanitarianism and diplomacy. It states that the phenomenon is a form called Stockholm syndrome which is self-deceptive, self-defeating and suicidal as the democratic values such as free-speech are sacrificed on the altar of political-correctness. It also states that for most of Sweden's modern history, it has been governed by socialist and leftist parties. It notes that there are 250,000-450,000 Muslims who are living in Sweden which has a total of about nine million inhabitants, in which Islam is estimated to be the country's second largest religion.
