Abstract
- This paper focuses on foreign automobile manufacturers who have penetrated the American market with varying degrees of success. It aims to assess the control the foreign automobile manufacturer exerts over his United States affiliate and the affiliate's control over the remaining members of the channel of distribution. It also evaluates the relations of the extent of control to measures of performance of the affiliate and of its franchised dealers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
