Abstract
- The article highlights automobile company Ford Motor Co.'s participation in stock-car racing to promote its vehicles. There are Ford cars or, at least, Ford engines in nearly every type of competition. Most Formula 1 cars are powered by Ford. According to the author, a growing number of Ford engines are being utilized in the so-called weird, fuming, hydra-headed, supercarbonated, twinkle-cammed drag machines. In 1968, Ford got 23.7% of the 9.4 million cars sold in the U.S.
