Abstract

The article discusses the attitude of Egypt President Gamal Abdel Nasser towards the U.S. It highlights the violence made by Egypt against the U.S. including the burning of the John F. Kennedy Library in Cairo and firing down a private-plane carrying two U.S. oil-company employees. It notes that such attitudes of the president was triggered by the rescue operation in Congo, headed by the U.S. and Belgium against the Communist-backed Simba rebels.
