Abstract

The article discusses the use of contemporary art as a form of advertising. It states that the chairman of Container Corp., Peppy Walter Paepcke, both likes modern art, and sees its commercial value as well, and plans to put such art on boxes. To win a commission for such work, Peter Nielson, a Frog Indian, decided to paint something on a mule deer he had shot, and sent the entire hide, complete with head and tail, to Paepcke. The completed work hangs in the latter's office, where he is contemplating his new advertising campaign strategy.
