Abstract
- The article reports on the purchase of the "London Times" by Lord Northcliffe, born Alfred Harmsworth, owner of "Daily Mail," in Great Britain. Northcliffe proceeded to fire editor George Earle Buckle and replace him with foreign correspondent Geoffrey Dawson. As the owner, Northcliffe sneaked in the first byline the newspaper had printed in 137 years and demanded more new stories and shorter articles. In addition, he forced Dawson to take vacations in order for him to impose more editorial changes which the staff did not want.
