Abstract

The article reports on the issue faced by James Worley, head of the English department at Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New York on his refusal to file lesson plans two weeks ahead of class. It provides an overview of the two-night hearing in the school auditorium wherein Principal Arthur Shedd argued that lesson plans were not inflexible, just a guide for substitute teachers. It also mentions the stand of Worley regarding the issue in which he emphasizes his competency in the classroom.
