Abstract

The article decribes the architectural design of Couvant Sainte Marie de la Tourette, a Dominican monastery in Eveux, Franch. The architect of the monastery is Le Corbusier, who abandoned that idea of making it the cloister where the monks can walk and meditate. Surrounded by a high parapet and seeded with grass, its roof is a terrace. By means of a corridor with walls, the monks reach their cells from the lower floors.
