Abstract
- The article focuses on the papers presented by the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, American Association for Cancer Research, and American Society for Artificial Internal Organs during the Medical Research Week at Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dr. Ernest L. Wynder discovered that a nonflammable part of a waxlike chemical in tobacco smoke can cause cancer. Dr. Otto Saphir reported that arteriosclerosis among people under 40 is caused by hypersensitivity to certain drugs.
