Abstract

The article discusses the impact of the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) on the U.S. economy. The country has experienced an increase in employment by 30 percent and payroll by 55 percent in several manufacturing industries. The recovery program has also effectively reduced work hours and increased salaries. About 1.3 million jobs were added in the non-manufacturing sectors to produce the desired volume of goods and services in July 1933.
