Abstract

The article reveals that the formation of an "International Shoe Bureau" to be based permanently in Zurich, Switzerland by shoe manufacturers of Holland, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Austria and Yugoslavia was precipitated by the aggressive plans of Czechoslovakia's T. A. Bata shoe manufacturer to introduce the idea of traveling repair shops in rural districts to repair shoes at prices against which the shoe trade cannot compete.
