Abstract

The article discusses business conditions for the automobile industry in the U.S. as of November 25, 1972. Estimated domestic sales for the year is 9.24 million cars, coming with the rise in gross national product and personal income. It notes that industry leaders Ford and General Motors experienced problems with their new model startups, which led to continuing supply shortages. There has been a reported increase in the market share of compact, subcompact, and intermediate automobiles in October, compared to a year ago.
