Abstract
- The article reports that because of the thickening of loan portfolio, bankers are planning to get back to 1 dollar of capital to protect 10 dollars of deposit. However, even though there are improvements in bank stock market, the shares are below the asset value, and therefore, it won't be easy for bankers to improve capital-deposit ratio, by selling new shares. It mentions that riskless assets are covering 60 to 88 percent in individual banks, because business loans are rising.
