Abstract
- The article reports on the important role played by the cooperative organization Music Associates in the revival of the music industry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization's 17 bands played more than half the single engagements in 1963 in the state and other areas. Its gross surpassed 1-million U.S. dollars and more than 760 dances and parties have been booked for 1964. The advantages to musicians who are in the organization include higher wages and profit-sharing.
