Seven railroads to make one.

The article discusses the rail merger scheme of Norfolk & Western Ry. (N&W) and Chesapeake & Ohio Ry. (C&O) that should first have the approval of the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC). The N&W and C&O merger is also planning to jointly have control on five other Eastern railroads including Delaware & Hudson, Boston & Maine and Reading. It notes that the merger is similar to the proposed Pennsylvania New York Central Transportation Co. that is still awaiting the approval of ICC.
