This publication provides an economic and political risk assessment for Argentina as of April 2010. The government of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner lost its majorities in both legislative chambers due to the poor congressional standing of her allies in the Front for Victory (FPV) faction of the Justicialist Party (PJ) in the June 2009 election. However, this has done nothing to weaken the president's commitment to maintaining the unorthodox approach to economic management. An economic outlook for the country is provided.
