Abstract
- The article discusses the deferred compensation system, where benefits are set aside or cash earnings in one year are paid out in the future, in the U.S. The system, developed since World War II, includes deferred pay contracts, deferred profit-sharing bonuses, and pensions. A study will be conducted on deferred compensation, to be reported to Congress and used as guide for tax legislation. Legislation by Congress is necessary for the Internal Revenue Code to include deferred pay policy.
