BMI Research: UAE Defence & Security Report: Political Overview.

The article presents an overview of the domestic political situation in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). There are efforts by the UAE to strengthen its military defence capabilities in response to broader trends emerging in the Gulf region. It expects the UAE to implement an increase in military spending due to the growing threat of a nuclear Iran. Also expected is regional stability in the region as a result of a steady building up in hard power deterrents among major powers in the region. Particular focus is given to UAE foreign policy orientation.
