Abstract: An assessment of conditions in United Arab Emirates (UAE) as of August 1, 2010 is presented. It provides an overview of the country's openness to foreign investment and trade, including a negotiation on a Free Trade Agreement started by the U.S. and UAE and the evolution of UAE's investment laws and regulations. A federal law was passed in 2005 to address political corruption and other bureaucratic obstacles in the country. Information is also provided on the country's labor conditions, infrastructure and government.
