Abstract

This section offers news briefs related to the Economic Cooperation Administration (ECA) in the U.S. in December 1948. The ECA has allocated the remaining recovery funds to the recovery needs of China and 16 European countries for the first quarter of 1949. ECA chief Paul Hoffman faced a hostile press from Europe over the issue of further dismantling the plants of Germany for reparations. The ECA appointed Ebasco Services Inc. to determine how Greece can best use its potential electric power.
