Abstract

The article reports that the strikes of the American Federation of Labor's Amalgamated Association of Street, Electric Railway and Motor Coach Employees of America have not triggered public discredit but have earned government officials' ire. Among the reasons were the small size of the Amalgamated union and the lack of national impact. Amalgamated, headed by W. D. Mahon, has organized 25 local unions and has expanded its membership by 25 percent.
