Abstract
- The article discusses the growing newsprint and paperboard supply problems in the U.S. due to the notable labor shortage in the Canadian pulpwood and paper industries. Details concerning U.S. consumption of paper products supplied by Canada are presented. Some reasons which caused the labor concerns of Canada are mentioned, including the previous coal strikes and railroad car scarcity in the U.S. The need for Canada to reduce its fuel wood use is recommended to compensate for the said supply problem.
