- The article reports on the problems faced by American Telephone & Telegraph Company's intelligent data communications service. The has notified that U.S. Federal Communications Commission about problems with the computer programming for its Advanced Communications System (ACS) in February 1979. Director of interpremises development William R. Smith states that the problem has prompted the company to change the system design and hardware.
