Abstract
- The article focuses on the price control policies in the Defense Production Act. in the U.S. in 1951. The amendment by Homer E. Capehart hastens the cutoff date of computing manufacturing costs such as selling and advertising expenses to July 26, 1951. The so-called Herlong amendment ensures the customary percentage margin of wholesalers and retailers. The Office of Prize Stabilization (OPS) uses the pass-through technique for the soft goods retail order allowing retailers to add only the amount of increase to the price and not raising the increase.
