This section presents abstracts of studies on economics which were published in the July- September 1964 issue of The Indian Economic Journal. The paper titled Economic Development, Terms of Trade and Tax Policy, by Gianni G. Zandano, deals with the effects of economic expansion on the terms of trade with particular reference to underdeveloped countries. The paper titled Monetary and Credit Policy in the Framework of an Economic Plan with Special Reference to the Short-Term Aspects, by S. L. N. Simha, looks at the economic and financial situation prevailing in Latin America. The paper titled Behaviourism and the Theory of the Firm, S. B. Prasad, shows that variations in the theory of economic organization center primarily around the so-called principle of profit maximization.
