Abstract

The article discusses a study on synthesizing and characterizing isomeric poly(ether ether ketone)s. Microwave-assisted method by nucleophilic substitution reaction of hydroquinone and 4,4'-biphenol with 4,4'-difluorobensophenone (DFBP) or 2,4'-DFBP in the presence of anhydrous K<subscript>2</subscript>CO<subscript>3</subscript> was employed in the study. It was found that the reaction time was shortened and the reaction temperature could be controlled easily.
