Abstract
- The article examines the social and political ramifications of electron participation (eParticipation) initiatives that were implemented in Greece and Spain on both the regional and local levels of government. This method of using computer resources to involve citizens in political planning processes is intended to enhance political participation under the auspices of a priority adopted by the European Union (EU) in the i2010 e-Government Action Plan. The authors create a twofold analysis using surveying methodologies to draw conclusions on how eParticipation initiatives within the two countries are affecting legislative processes.
