Abstract
- In this article the author discusses the need for convenience stores (c-stores) to provide healthier food items to their consumers. According to the author, consumers often indicate that they seek healthier food items, such as those low in sodium, fat, calories, or sugar. However, when operators offer these items, consumers do not accept them, and purchase more indulgent, tastier foods instead. The author says that c-store consumers place less importance on health and wellness.
