Abstract: Visible light irradiation of the benzene complex [(η-1-BuNH-1,7,9-CBH)Fe(η-CH)] in the presence of the charge-compensated carborane anions [9-L-7,8-CBH] (L = SMe, NMe) affords ferracarboranes (η-1-BuNH-1,7,9-CBH)Fe(η-9-L-7,8-CBH).
