Abstract
- The article offers the author's insights on the study of physicist Axel Kleidon of Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry in Jena, Germany on how climate scientists, who are studying possible responses to climate change, neglect to distinguish energy and free energy. It states that the analysis of the prospects for shifting to different energy sources should consider flows of free energy, not just energy. The author mentions that the appeal of Kleidon to fundamental principles is refreshing.
