Abstract

The article focuses on how definition of information security affects business management. It says that information security which is defined as preservation of confidentiality, availability, and integrity of information and is formed by security architecture components including data backup systems, encryption of data, and firewalls has proven to be insufficient since security problems continue to rise. Moreover, the root cause may be due to the inconsistency of definition of information security in business sector leading to its lack of appreciation. It suggests that to define information security is to understand business objectives and identifying stakeholders to connect them to information protection attributes.
