Abstract

Reports that mossy fibre long-term potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampus and the cerebellum is abolished in mice lacking RIM1alpha, an active zone protein that binds to Rab3A and that is also a protein kinase A substrate. Potentiation of mossy fibre synaptic transmission induced by forskolin; Significance of Rab3A for long-term depression at mossy fibre synapses; Changes in the release probability and short-term synaptic plasticity observed at CA1 excitatory synpases in RIM1alpha knockout mice.
