Fracture behavior of thermoplastic polyolefin/clay nanocomposites.

The article investigates the mechanical and fracture behaviors of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO)/clay nanocomposites. Results of tensile tests revealed the capacity of organically modified montmorillonite to enhance the stiffness and tensile strength of TPO. Essential work of fracture measurements showed an increase in fracture toughness of the TPO/clay nanocomposites as clay content or elastomer increases.
