Abstract: The article examines and compares healthcare resource utilization and related costs among patients with chronic migraine and episodic migraine in the U.S. and Canada. Headache-specific medication, healthcare provider visits, emergency department visits, and diagnostic testing were the common medical services utilized. Chronic migraine was determined to be linked to higher medical resource use and total costs compared with episodic migraine.
