Abstract
- The authors reflect on the possible impact of changes to be made to pet movement rules in Great Britain on animal or public health. In an announcement made by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in June 2011, it says that the country is set to harmonise its rules with those of other member states of the European Union (EU). Under the new rules, dogs, cats and ferrets entering the country from EU member states and listed non-EU countries will no longer require a blood test to confirm seroconversion following rabies vaccination.
