Abstract
- Discusses the increasing use of aggregated databases in libraries. Panel discussion of aggregated databases was arranged by Library Journal and moderated by Ann Okerson of Yale University; Views of round table participants, including those of Vince Price, Audrey Melkin, Stephen Bell, Diane Smith, Peter McCracken, John Barnes, and Sam Brooks; The case of Tasini v. New York Times, article removal issues and court decision effects on general magazines versus scholarly journals. Topics such as full-text issues and consortial buying are explored as well as caveats of journal cancellation; value of full text databases; embargoes; and future of electronic resources in libraries.
