Abstract

The article presents information on several cases of children killing in the U.S. and Canada in which people were accused based on the flawed work of forensic pathologists and later cleared. In the case of the child, Courtney Smith, the bite-mark findings on the body led to caregiver Levon Brooks' conviction and imprisonment of 16 years. In the case of the child, Kaddarius Douglas, no evidence of alcohol poisoning was found but his mother Hattie Douglas was jailed and later released.
