Abstract

The article discusses various issues related to the footwear industry. It is stated that the launch of two footwear product lines, Ske-chers Shape-ups and Reebok EasyTone, generated retail traffic and also gave much needed impetus to the athletic women's shoe market. John Holden, executive at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Benjamin Lovell Shoes, says that the biggest opportunity for brands is to come out with a product that doesn't look like a toning apparatus.
