Abstract

The article reports on the decision of some Chinese crude indium producers to offer material at less than 5,000 yuan per kilogram (kg) due to tighter liquidity and global commodities sell-off in May 2011. A refined indium producer noted that the current production costs for some producers are estimated at 3,000 yuan. There was an almost 30-dollar per tonne increase in export offered by a producer to Japan prior to the May Day holiday. An exporter revealed that it can only meet half of the orders.
