Abstract

The article presents aspects of corporate grievance procedures and labor arbitration. Sound personnel policy requires that grievances be treated on their own merits, removed as much as possible from the conflict conditions associated with contract negotiations. Management should evaluate the case from the adversary's point of view before making the decision to arbitrate. One of the risks associated with going to arbitration is that the opinion of the arbitrator may encompass more of the issue than set forth in the submission agreement.
