Abstract

The article reports on the economic forecasts for Indonesia through 2012. It highlights the unexpected move of the Bank of Indonesia (BI) to cut its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points (bps), driven by the decline in inflation from 4.8% to 4.6%. It forecasts an additional two cuts for a total of 50bps through the end of 2012.
