Abstract

The article presents research which examined the application of improved efficiency of pecintase scouring with agitation to enhance cotton fabric wettability. The researchers performed the pectinase treatments after a water pretreatment at 100 degrees Celsius which showed a great promise as a more environmentally favorable substitute for alkaline scouring. They assessed the effects of fabric-to-fabric agitation and shaking agitation when added to a previously established pectinase scouring protocol.
